In the town of Aksakovo, in the region of Varna, Bulgaria's first all-female bagpipe group was created. This was announced by Nikola Georgiev, head of the "Trakia" bagpipe school. The girls debuted with a video clip on the Internet with a performance of the folk song "Devoyko Mari Hubava" in a modern arrangement by Nikola Georgiev. According to Georgiev, the interest in Bulgarian folklore in our society is increasing and more and more girls are reaching for the folk instrument, BTA reported. According to the teacher, the creation of the group breaks the stereotype that girls cannot play the bagpipe.
