Bulgaria’s football champion Ludogorets dropped out in the third qualifying phase of the Champions League, after losing 2-7 after extra time to the champion of Azerbaijan Qarabağ. Though playing as a home team, Ludogorets dropped out with a total result of 4-8 after winning by 2-1 in the first match as an away team. This means Ludogorets will be vying to enter the Europa League where it will be playing versus Petrocub, Moldova. After 0-0 and 1-0, the team from Moldova ousted the Welsh TNS. Ludogorets’ first match will be on 22 August on home ground – Razgrad.
