Women on management boards in Bulgaria have increased to 18.3%

Women in management positions in Bulgaria are increasing, although they remain fewer than men. In 2023, their number reached 68,000 - 3,200 more than the previous year, according to the government-approved Gender Equality Report 2023. 
Last year, the share of women who are part of management boards increased from 14.8% to 18.3%. In 2023, the average social security income for men was BGN 1,488.15 - 6.2% more than that for women. 
There is also a difference in the average amount of the pension for length of service and age. For men it was 942 BGN /481.64 EUR/, and for women - 765 BGN /391.14 EUR/.
