In the early hours of October 19, 2024, Unit 6 of the Kozloduy NPP will be shut down for planned annual maintenance that is expected to last until the end of November. During this time, the planned repair works and recharging of the reactor with fresh nuclear fuel will be carried out.
The fifth power unit of the Kozloduy NPP operates according to the electricity production schedule, it was reported.
Bulgaria has one nuclear power plant - Kozloduy NPP, which has two operating units - No. 5 and No. 6. Nuclear energy provides about 40% of the country's gross electricity production.
