Election campaign officially ends at midnight

At midnight today, the campaign for the general election, to be held on Sunday 27 October, officially ends. Saturday is a day of silence.

As of 23 October, 21 of the 28 parties and coalitions had signed contracts for media coverage of their election campaigns. According to the Institute for Public Environment Development, they have spent a total of BGN 1.5 million (EUR 770,000). By comparison, the parties spent BGN 2.4 million (EUR 1.230 million) on the campaign for the 2023 parliamentary elections, the institute said.
