International conference on Bulgarian studies to take place in Berlin

On October 27 and 28, 2024, Berlin will host an international conference under the title "Bulgarian studies in the field of modern humanitarian studies". The forum will bring together prominent scientists, teachers and artists from Bulgaria and Germany. The hosts will be the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the Humboldt University in Berlin.
The participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest trends and achievements in the field of Bulgarian studies, as well as to discuss current issues related to the Bulgarian language, literature, history, culture and society. Special emphasis will be placed on the interaction between philologies of minor languages and artificial intelligence, the place of Bulgarian literature in the European context and how the Bulgarian identity is changing under the influence of global processes.

The first day of the conference will be devoted to the theoretical aspects of Bulgarian studies, and the second - to practical applications and specific projects. Among the participants will be prominent Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov, whose lecture promises to will be one of the most anticipated events of the conference. The attendees will also get to know the national scientific program "Development and promotion of Bulgarian studies abroad", presented by Elka Traikova from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The organizer of the conference under the National Scientific Program "Development of Bulgarian Studies Abroad" is a team of Plovdiv University "St. Paisii Hilendarski", Humboldt University, the Institute of Slavic Studies and Hungarian Studies, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Germany.
