Burgas airport welcomed its millionth passenger this summer season with an official ceremony. Steffi Kruspe, who landed on 31 July from Leipzig, said this was her first time in Bulgari and she would be spending one week in Nessebar with her family.
An over 50% increase is expected of arrivals from Germany, the airport’s director Vasil Atanasov said. This increase could reach 70% compared to last year. “We welcomed our millionth passenger a week early. In 2024 this took place on 7 August,” he said and added that in 2025 Burgas airport is expecting a 4% increase in the number of passengers compared to 2024. This season, the biggest number of passengers come from Poland, the UK, Czechia, Germany and Israel, BNR’s Radio Burgas reports.
