Bulgaria’s Chiren gas storage facility is 100% full

The Chiren underground gas storage is 100% full of natural gas, "Bulgartransgaz" has reported. According to the European regulation for guaranteeing the security of gas supplies during the upcoming heating season, gas storages in EU countries must be filled to at least 90% of their volume by November 1.

The only Bulgarian gas storage is of essential importance for the energy security of Bulgaria and the countries of South-Eastern Europe. Seven Bulgarian and five international companies store natural gas in it.
