On August 8, the prices of all goods in stores must also be in euros. The currency conversion must be at the rate of 1.95583, set by the currency board and at which it was accepted that Bulgaria would switch to the European currency. With the changes to the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria at the end of July, the MPs gave a 2-month period until October 8, during which traders will still not be fined for the lack of double price marking. The grace period is for companies servicing cash register software, which still need time.
