Bulgaria hosts the First European Fire Sports Championship

Bulgarian Mihail Kostov finished second in the men's "Assault Ladder Climb" event at the First European Fire Sports Championship, held from August 26 to 29 in Dolna Banya, reported public service broadcaster BNT. He stopped the clock at 14.30 seconds. The gold medal went to Ukrainian Yurii Skrypka, who climbed three floors with a ladder in just 13.85 seconds. National Assembly Speaker Natalia Kiselova presented the medals and certificates to the winners.
In the women's competition, Ukrainian Sofia Koltenko took first place, climbing one floor with an assault ladder in 7.17 seconds. She received her medal and certificate from Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov.
The championship features 14 teams from eight countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine.
