Even before the election of the regular committees, the Parliament decided to set up an ad hoc committee to find out all the facts and circumstances of the drought problems in the country. The decision was taken unanimously with 203 votes in favour. The committee will consist of 24 MPs on a parity basis, three from each political group, and will work for three months. Manol Genov of the BSP-United Left was elected chairman of the committee.
A second ad hoc committee was also set up to investigate and establish all the facts and circumstances surrounding the outbreaks of small ruminant pest and small ruminant pox in the country.
