The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences opens today the exhibition "Living Human Treasures-Bulgaria" under the dome of Sofia's Largo. The exhibition presents 44 elements of intangible cultural heritage inscribed between 2008 and 2024.
The UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was established in 2008. In the same year, Bulgaria was included for the first time with "Bistritsa Babi – archaic polyphony, dance and rituals from the Shopluk region". The exhibition features documents from the archives of the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The exhibition will be open until January 3, 2025.
