The construction of a new Danube bridge near Ruse may begin in 2026, as European funding totalling 2.5 billion euros has been provided, the city's regional governor, Dragomir Draganov reported.
The new bridge over the Danube River will connect Ruse and Giurgiu and its construction will take about two and a half years.
The regional governor also commented on the reasons for the delay in launching the ferry line between Ruse and Giurgiu. According to him, the Romanian side has not yet taken actions to repair the road infrastructure to the ferry complex.
