Resignations after fatal train accident near Sofia

The new Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadajov has accepted the resignations of the heads of the National Railway Infrastructure Company Stoyan Stoyanov and of BDZ Freight Transport Company Hristiyan Krastev. The resignations were requested by the caretaker Minister Krasimira Stoyanova due to the train accident near Sofia on Wednesday, in which two people died and six were injured.

Alexander Vetskov has been appointed acting director of the railway company, and Chavdar Trendafilov of BDZ Freight Transport Company.
