Over 70% of Bulgarians are categorically against sending a military contingent to Ukraine. This was stated by Dimitar Ganev from the sociological agency “Trend” in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.
The Bulgarian Parliament will adopt a declaration that Bulgaria will not send soldiers to Ukraine. It has been prepared by the ruling majority and will be submitted to the registry office to be included in the agenda of the Foreign Policy Committee as early as Thursday. “Let it be clear once and for all that in such a military situation in Ukraine, Bulgaria will in no way allow the sending of Bulgarian soldiers to the front,” said Stanislav Balabanov from ITN party, writes 24chasa.bg.
Hristo Gadzhev from GERB-SDS and Galin Durev from the Bulgarian Socialist Party emphasized that "the declaration is principled and is not just about this conflict." Gadzhev stated that there will likely be no Bulgarian participation in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine and that the declaration is expected to be adopted on Friday.
