Bulgarian MiG-29 fighter jets escorted a US B-52 strategic bomber as part of a joint training exercise with the US Air Force, the Ministry of Defense reported. The training took place on Monday, March 3, and the fighters were from the "Graf Ignatievo" airbase.
The integration of Bulgarian fighters into the Bomber Task Force mission was carried out within NATO's enhanced vigilance activities. The Bomber Task Force, currently based at Fairford air base, United Kingdom, participates in joint training and exercises with partners and allies, thus demonstrating the US commitment to collective defense.
