With 128 votes in favour, Parliament adopted a statement by National Assembly Speaker Natalia Kiselova calling on the members of the Constitutional Court to make public all documents related to the constitutional dispute over the recent October 2024 parliamentary elections. Natalia Kiselova, Speaker of the National Assembly, was the sole signatory of the statement, which came after yesterday's parliamentary hearing of the management of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Information Services (IS), Bulgaria's national systems integrator.
The statement emphasized that the hearing revealed the experts had not received all the ballot papers from the recounted polling stations. Instead, empty bags were handed over, leaving the votes of at least 780 Bulgarian citizens uncounted.
53 MPs from We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) and the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (DPS-DPS) voted against the motion, while MECH abstained. Vazrazhdane did not take part in the vote, and only one of its MPs voted in favour. Party leader Kostadin Kostadinov called for the Constitutional Court to be dissolved.
