Bulgaria had no reason to prohibit the plane of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić from flying over Bulgarian airspace en route to Moscow for the military parade on May 9. This was what Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said in response to a question in parliament. "We have no reasons for closing our airspace for countries with which we have partnership and good neighborly relations.”
"The President of Serbia is not a persona non grata for Bulgaria. In this specific case, the assessment is that there is no risk or danger to national security, and the question of whether we like it or not that someone is going somewhere is a matter of subjective attitude," Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said.
