A Bulgarian Parade was held in Chicago to mark the Day of Bulgarian Culture

A parade dedicated to May 24 - the Day of Bulgarian Letters, Education and Culture was held in Chicago for the fourth consecutive year, BGNES and BNT reported. The event was organized by the Elk Grove Village City Hall and the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Chicago.
Immediately after the parade, the traditional Bulgarian festival, organized by the Bulgarian Arts and Cultural Exchange, took place.

The Bulgarian Consul General in Chicago, Svetoslav Stankov, announced that starting next academic year, a lectorate will be opened at the University of Illinois, where Bulgarian language will be studied.
Bulgarian Sunday schools, cultural centers, dance clubs and ensembles, and all Bulgarian patriotic organizations in the Chicago area took part in the parade.
