One of the most revered holidays for Muslims, Kurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha), has begun. It is associated with sacrifice, forgiveness and compassion. According to Sezer Sadulov from the Regional Mufti’s Office in Kardzhali, Kurban Bayram strengthens relationships between relatives and friends, reported the BNR’s correspondent in Kardzhali Valya Apostolova.

“Kurban Bayram is not just a religious ritual, but also a time for forgiveness and strengthening social ties. People visit relatives, the graves of deceased loved ones, read the Quran and strive to be better and more compassionate”, said Sezer Sadulov. “The holiday highlights the importance of faith, humility and the willingness to give up something personal for a greater good”, added Sezer Sadulov.
Kurban Bayram lasts four days. Traditionally, a sacrificial meal (kurban) is prepared, and part of it is shared with relatives and people in need.
