A coordination center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will monitor the situation in the Middle East

Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs established a Coordination Centre in connection with the worsening situation in the Middle East. It was formed by order of Premier Rosen Zhelyazkov and under the personal leadership of Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev. The center will monitor the development of the situation in real time, maintain constant contact with Bulgaria’s diplomatic and consular missions in the region and coordinate actions with other competent institutions to ensure the safety of Bulgarian citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it is in constant contact with international partners and is monitoring for potential risks to Bulgarian citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on all Bulgarian nationals in the affected areas to maintain contact with the nearest diplomatic mission of Bulgaria and to follow the instructions of local authorities and the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.
 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended that Bulgarian citizens who are in countries in the affected region and need assistance contact the Foreign Ministry using one of the following communication channels:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that Iran's airspace is currently closed, which means that evacuation from the country by air cannot be carried out at this stage.
