Eurogroup president Paschal Donohoe expects a consensus at today's meeting in Luxembourg on Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone, BNR correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova reported.
I believe that Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone will be very good for the Bulgarian economy and that this will contribute to the success of the eurozone. I saw in Ireland what this brought for businesses, for people who want to travel, for students, also the great conveniences of sharing the currency with neighbors and being part of such a strong currency unit as the Euro. There is a consensus that you will see later today on Bulgaria's accession and I believe that this will lay the foundations for the next successful phase of its economy, Donohoe said.
Regarding the existing concerns in Bulgarian society about inflation and price increases after the adoption of the euro, Donohoe pointed out that with the right budget policy in the coming years, Bulgaria would successfully cope with this challenge.
