Monthly inflation stands at 0.4%, and annual inflation at 4.4%, the National Statistical Institute has announced. In May, the annual inflation stood at 3.7%, the highest since December 2023.
The acceleration of the annual inflation rate in June is due most of all to the higher prices of “food and non-alcoholic beverages” which registered a 7.5% increase compared to June 2024, after a rise of 6.9% last May. The price index for the small consumer basket is also up in June – by 0.1% on a monthly basis and by 4.2% since the beginning of 2025.
