The sweet temptation "Garash" is a cake whose history is very curious and deserves the attention of both those interested in history and lovers of its undeniable taste qualities.
Its creator is the Austro-Hungarian Kosta Garash. It is believed that according to its authentic recipe, which is kept in the State Archives of Bulgaria's town of Ruse, it does not contain flour, has a lot of chocolate, nuts and whole milk.
Created in the then hotel "Islyah-hane" in the town on the Danube, the cake was first tried by guests of Prince Alexander I Battenberg.
This year marks 140 years since the creation of this dessert and on this occasion the holiday has also acquired its own logo. On the festive September 13th, Ruse is hosting its fourth edition, in which special guests will be actor Vladimir Karamazov and two chefs - Ivan Alexandrov, who will lead a children's master class in confectionery and a master class on a modern interpretation of the Garash cake, and Daria Rusanova, who will show the intricacies of preparing chocolates.
