The Bulgarian national volleyball team played another thrilling match in Group E of the World Championship in the Philippines. Gianlorenzo Blengini’s side defeated world No. 6 Slovenia 3–2 (25:19, 25:14, 18:25, 23:25, 15:13) in Pasay City.
This was Bulgaria’s second consecutive victory after their straight-sets win over Germany on Saturday. The result effectively secures first place in Group E for the team, who opened with a win against Germany and still have to face outsiders Chile.
Bulgaria now sit on 5 points, Slovenia have 4, Germany 3, while Chile remain on 0 without winning a single set.
