Bulgaria's Antarctic research ship to sail for Antarctica for the fourth time in November

The Bulgarian military research ship “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” (NIK 421) will set off on its fourth voyage to Antarctica on November 7. This was announced to BTA by its commander, Captain 2nd Rank Radko Muevsky, who will also lead the new mission. 
According to the plan, the 34th Bulgarian polar expedition should continue until April 14, 2026, when the ship will return to Varna.
One of the main tasks this season is to complete the furnishing of the new laboratory module, which was built over the previous 3 years. The research ship NIK 421 will ensure the activities of scientists both in the area of ​​Livingston Island and the South Shetland Islands. As before, there will be joint activities with the Spanish Atlantic Program and with teams from other countries, said Capt. Muevsky.
