Regarding a video published on YouTube, the management of VMZ-Sopot - the largest state-owned military enterprise in Bulgaria, say that the information presented does not correspond to the truth. The enterprise strongly objects to the use of fake information for political purposes. "There is a risk of compromising not only the company, but also the Republic of Bulgaria as a Euro-Atlantic partner," the position of VMZ-Sopot reads, BNR Horizont reported.
On Monday, President Rumen Radev announced that he would notify the competent authorities of violations and abuses at VMZ-Sopot, on whose site the German concern Rheinmetall plans to build factories for gunpowder and 155-millimeter artillery shells. The announcement of the head of state's intention came after his meeting with former employees of VMZ-Sopot and journalist Stanislav Tsanov - author of the video on the topic. GERB leader Boyko Borisov accused Radev of trying to obstruct the deal with Rheinmetall. The president denied this claim, stating that he himself brought Rheinmetall to Bulgaria.
