Welcome to Bulgaria Today, the English-language podcast of Radio Bulgaria, on September 22 hosted by Kostadin Atanasov and Elizabeth Radkova.
On September 22 Bulgaria celebrates Independence Day. This day is marked as an official state holiday.

Next, we are to tell you about the Anthem of Independence. On September 22, 1908, inspired by the great event of the declaration of Bulgaria’s Independence, military bandmaster Georgi Shagunov created both the text and the melody of the anthem.
Finally, from September 24 to 28, Bulgaria’s coastal city of Varna hosts the first edition of theInternational Black Sea Theatre Festival.
