VOLLEYBALL: Bulgaria reach World Championship semi-finals with win over USA

In a dramatic match watched by 10,181 spectators in Pasay City, Philippines, Bulgaria’s national volleyball team beat the United States 3-2 (21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13) in a quarter-final clash.

Coach Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team secured their place in the semi-finals by topping Preliminary Group E and then defeating Portugal 3-0 in the round of 16. This is the first time Bulgaria has been among the top eight at the World Championship since 2010.
