''We are shocked and deeply saddened by the heinous attack on a synagogue in Manchester, especially on Yom Kippur — the holiest day in the Jewish calendar'', stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a post on the platform X. "We join British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper in condemning this act of violence and express our solidarity to the affected", the post reads. "Bulgaria strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated.
The response came after Thursday’s attack in which a man of Syrian descent drove his car at people outside a synagogue in Manchester and then seriously injured three individuals with a knife before being shot by police. The attack took place on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the most significant holiday for the Jewish community, when many worshippers had gathered at the synagogue, BTA reported.
