Krastyo Peev from the Civic Association “Public Council” in Nessebar has reported to the Bulgarian National Radio about “dead people and people trapped in hotels that need to be evacuated and dozens of cars and pavilions in the sea” in the holiday village “Elenite”. The information about the deaths as a result of the floods is still unconfirmed.
According to the activist, the situation is horrible, as a river of mud and debris is flowing and people trapped in the complexes need to be evacuated. “The resources of the fire department and Civil Protection are not enough and volunteers are needed”, he warned.
According to Krastyo Peev, the disaster continues, but there is no noticeable reaction from the state: "There is a fire department team, we have sent a team of volunteers to join the actions. The local formation of ‘Civil Protection’ has not been activated. As usual, first comes the civil reaction, then the state."
