Pont Neuf Square renamed in tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude

To mark the 40th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's monumental artwork, 'The Pont Neuf Wrapped', which transformed the iconic Parisian bridge into a work of art for fourteen days, the square adjacent to the bridge has been named 'Pont Neuf — Christo and Jeanne-Claude', the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in the French capital announced on its Facebook page.

The initiative was proposed by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and unanimously approved by the City Council.

The institute recalls that Christo met Jeanne-Claude in Paris in 1958, and that the city remained an important place in the life and work of the artistic duo.
