''I apply the best British practices for the development of science communication in Bulgaria'', said Lyubov Kostova, Member of Board Trustees of Beautiful Science Foundation, in an interview with BTA. She was awarded the British Empire Medal for her long-standing work in the field of science communication and her significant contribution to strengthening cultural and educational ties between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.
The distinction was presented by His Majesty’s Ambassador to Bulgaria, Nathaniel Copsey, at a ceremony held at the British Residence in Sofia. "The British Empire Medal acknowledges her exceptional leadership and the power of her work to connect people and transform societies through knowledge", said Ambassador Copsey, as quoted on the embassy's website.
Lyubov Kostova grew up in Nigeria, holds a Master's degree in Indology, and has translated over 70 plays. She is a former director of the British Council Bulgaria and has been actively engaged in science communication since 2003.
