Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Grushko stated that Moscow has not held talks regarding a possible overflight of President Vladimir Putin’s plane over Poland, Romania and Bulgaria on the way to Budapest.
“It is still too early for contact with Bulgaria or other countries regarding a possible overflight of Vladimir Putin’s plane through their airspace en route to Hungary,” said Grushko, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
On October 16, U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, and it was reported that they are preparing a meeting in Budapest on Ukraine.
On October 19, during a ceremony marking the Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian Friendship in the city of Esztergom, Tancho Popganchev Yanchev, a priest from the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Hungary, called on the Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant communities to join in a collective prayer for successful peace negotiations, according to the Hungarian news agency MTI.
