There is an increase in requests for recognition of student diplomas obtained abroad

Applications for recognition of higher education obtained abroad have doubled. This was announced by Vanya Grashkina-Mincheva, executive director of the National Center for Information and Documentation before a meeting of the parliamentary education committee. She informed the deputies about the new functions of the center under the Lisbon Convention on the Recognition of Higher Education Degrees between EU countries.

“In 3 years, we have had a 100% increase in requests for recognition of EU diplomas. This is good evidence that Bulgarians are returning to Bulgaria and want to find professional careers in the country, as well as that foreign citizens with a good education want to work in Bulgaria," says Grashkina.

"Among the new activities of the center are the recognition of secondary education diplomas from abroad, as well as the acquisition of professional teacher qualifications in Bulgarian universities," said Verzhiniya Tsankova, chief secretary of the Center for Information and Documentation.
