''The Black Sea – Unique and Unknown'' is the name of the exhibition that the Regional Historical Museum of Burgas will present on today’s International Black Sea Action Day. The exhibition aims to raise public awareness about the richness and vulnerability of the Black Sea ecosystem, the cultural institution reported.
The exhibition features seven panels with little-known facts about the sea and its coast, presented through scientific data, artistic diagrams and photographs. Highlights include a three-dimensional model of the seabed and a reconstruction of the remains of an Ottoman wooden ship, found at a depth of 300 meters.
Through the exhibition, the Natural History Museum Burgas conveys the message of the urgent need to protect the Black Sea, one of the most vulnerable seas in the world.
International Black Sea Action Day is observed each year to commemorate the signature of the Black Sea Strategic Action Plan for the Rehabilitation and Protection of the Black Sea. It was signed in 1996 by six countries- Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Turkiye, reported BTA.
