Kameliya Stoimenova sets a new national record in the 200-meter breaststroke

22-year-old Kameliya Stoimenova broke the national record in the women’s 200-meter breaststroke in a short course pool belonging to Bulgarian swimming legend Tanya Bogomilova, announced the “Sprint-Sofia” swimming club. The news was confirmed to bTV by the Bulgarian Swimming Federation.
Stoimenova finished first in the event with a time of 2:25.59 minutes at the SE London Winter Championships 2025, thus surpassing the 2:25.95 record set by Olympic champion Tanya Bogomilova in Blagoevgrad in 1988.
Kameliya Stoimenova competes for the NUEL – London team. Earlier this year, she won silver in the 50-meter breaststroke, bronze in the 100-meter breaststroke, and became champion in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Bulgarian National Championships.
