Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev met with the ambassadors of European Union Member States to Bulgaria. At the Embassy of Denmark, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, Minister Georgiev placed special emphasis on support for Ukraine, the EU enlargement policy, and security in the Black Sea region.
It was emphasized that EU unity is of paramount importance for achieving a future peaceful agreement in Ukraine.
Georg Georgiev stated that EU enlargement remains a top priority for Bulgaria and congratulated Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova on the progress achieved and their consistent reform efforts. He stressed the need for all candidate countries to fulfill their commitments to the EU. Minster Georgiev underlined the importance of preserving unanimity in decision-making under the Common Foreign and Security Policy, as well as in enlargement policy.
