Gold-rich deposits were found during fresh drilling in the gold mine in the village of Chelopech, the Canadian owner of the mine DPM Metals has announced. The discovery was made in a zone about 300 metres below the existing reserves and infrastructure, with two more holes currently being drilled. In view of the importance of the discovery, the company plans to invest 2-3 million USD in additional drilling until the end of March 2026. The funding will support roughly 10,000 metres of infill and delineation drilling. The discovery supports the investor's aim to extend the mine's exploitation period to over 10 years, the company says.
