Framework for strategic corridor North – South to be signed next week

Plovdiv and Southern Bulgaria are part of the new strategic corridor "Black Sea - Aegean Sea - Baltic Sea". With colleagues from Greece and Romania next week in Brussels we will sign a framework for regional cooperation. It will accelerate the planning, financing and construction of the new cross-border routes. This was what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Grozdan Karadjov, said at the forum "Southern Bulgaria - restart and achievable goals", 24chasa.bg reports.
Karadjov listed the routes of future highways and railways:
1. Western axis: Athens - Thessaloniki - Promachonas - Kulata - Sofia - Vidin - Calafat - Craiova - Bucharest;
2. Central axis: Thessaloniki - Alexandroupolis - Ormenio - Svilengrad - Plovdiv - Ruse -Giurgiu - Bucharest - Siret - Ungheni;
3. Eastern axis: Istanbul – Malko Tarnovo – Burgas – Varna – Constanța.
These corridors also include two new bridges over the Danube at Silistra and Nikopol
