Elin Pelin opens its Christmas season today, bringing together residents for concerts, markets and charity activities.
The municipality says visitors can expect a range of seasonal offerings, including craft stalls, food stands, demonstrations and family-friendly events.
This evening, a 16-metre Christmas tree will be raised in the central square and lit with more than one million lights. The initiative also highlights a charitable cause supporting local families.
Under the motto “Miracles Happen at Christmas: Let's Wish for a Baby!', the municipality aims to draw public attention to the issues faced by young couples.
Proceeds from the Christmas markets will be donated to support families hoping to have children.
“We are once again lighting the symbol of hope and community, because meaningful change happens when we stand together,” said Mayor Ivaylo Simeonov.
