A film concert showcasing archival footage shot in the rare 9.5 mm format before 1944 is taking place on 2 December at 19:00 at the House of Cinema in Sofia (37 Exarch Yosif Street). Following the success of previous screenings, audiences will now have the opportunity to view clips from the extensive collection of Hristo Piperkov, a Sofia lawyer.

The films depict Sofia and Bulgaria during the 1920s and 1930s, including family gatherings, trips abroad and notable historical events such as the wedding of Tsar Boris III and the flight of the Graf Zeppelin over Sofia in 1929.

Nearly 100 years later, these films will be presented on the big screen for the first time, accompanied by live music composed and performed by the group SoundScapers. Following the screening, there will be a discussion in Bulgarian about the history of the films. The project is supported by the National Culture Fund.
