Experts to discuss protecting democracy and truth in the age of disinformation

On 2 December, experts, journalists, and researchers will gather at the French Institute in Sofia to discuss ways to safeguard information integrity and democratic debate in the age of disinformation.

Participants will examine the challenges facing journalism and fact-checking in Bulgaria and the broader Black Sea region. Discussions will highlight the adoption of fact-checking practices by major media outlets and the role of media literacy in building resilient communities.

H.E. Marie Dumoulin, French Ambassador to Bulgaria, and Nikola Miladinov, Press and Media Adviser at the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, will welcome attendees. The event is free to attend, and the working languages will be Bulgarian and French.
