GERB youth organization strongly condemns acts of violence in Sofia

Responding to accusations that the destruction of GERB’s party headquarters during the December 1 protests in Sofia was carried out by provocateurs, the youth organization of GERB stated that they have nothing to do with the events.

“What is being said - that we organized groups of provocateurs - is not true. Do you really think we would smash our own office?” asked Nikola Skorcheliev, chair of the youth organization in the capital.

The GERB Youth in Sofia held an emergency briefing due to the damage to the party office after the protest against Budget 2026, BGNES reported.

“The worst thing that happened is that years ago, some people began spreading a message of hatred and division among us, the young. This led to the aggression at the protest,” added Skorchev. “Democracy is not about smashing things, but about dialogue,” added Nikolay Algafari.

He also stated that the voice of the protesters will certainly be heard and that there will be a response in the coming days.
