President Radev: Early elections are the only way out

The resignation is urgent, and early elections are the only way forward. This is what President Rumen Radev said in his address to the nation. According to him, “Bulgaria needs real change that would lead to the restoration of statehood and that is something that the current coalition cannot achieve”.

Referring to yesterday’s mass protests, President Radev noted: “The long-suppressed discontent of Bulgarians spilled onto the squares. Thousands in the capital and in major cities chanted ‘Resignation’… The Bulgarian people have raised their voices against the state capture, corruption, lawlessness, and the political class’s refusal to hear them… Bulgarians said ‘No’ to everything that drove more than a million of our compatriots abroad and tore their families apart”.
