GERB leader thanks protesters and hopes there will be no early elections

This was stated on the sidelines of parliament by Boyko Borissov, leader of the GERB party, which is the mandate holder of the cabinet. “After that, prices will skyrocket. The euro will be compromised in such a way that the next government may become the first to want to leave the eurozone,” Borissov said.

According to the MP, the protest did a good job because it provided an opportunity to revise the budget. “I thank the unions and employers for agreeing to all budget discussions being public. We will cut capital expenditures again in order to balance the fiscal framework,” Borissov said. The measure will cut money for new roads and development of municipalities in 2026.
