Scientists support the initiative “14 Centuries of Bulgaria in Europe”

Leading Bulgarian historians, archaeologists and representatives of national cultural institutions have voiced their support of the national initiative “14 Centuries of Bulgaria in Europe.”

“We, the Bulgarian historians and public figures, guided by our duty to preserve and strengthen the historical memory of our people, call on the Bulgarian society and the Bulgarian state to mark in the most solemn manner a significant anniversary - one thousand and four hundred years since the establishment of the Bulgarian state. We join the announced initiative of the BNR, BNT and BTA “14 Centuries of Bulgaria in Europe”, their letter reads.

In 2032, there will be anniversary of the establishment of the state of Kubrat, which ancient sources call “Magna Bulgaria” or “Old Bulgaria”.

"Celebrating this anniversary is our duty, both to the Bulgarians in today's Bulgarian borders and to those millions of our compatriots living in all corners of the world," the call reads further.
