Just before Christmas, the emblematic House With The Strawberries' (Strawberry House) located on 'San Stefano' street in central Sofia was illuminated with Christmas decorations. The old, almost forgotten building, built between 1927 and 1930 for banker Dimitar Ivanov and his family, is one of the most eloquent examples of elite residential architecture from the early 20th century, blending the styles of Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

A few months ago, after many years of neglect and gradual deterioration, the House With The Strawberries was acquired by young entrepreneurs – part of a well-known Bulgarian technology company. The new owners announced that they would undertake a large-scale renovation to restore the building’s former splendor, while preserving its architectural identity. The company promised that the house would be accessible to all Sofia residents – not just as an office or private property, but also as a symbol of the city's cultural heritage.

The page dedicated to the 'House with the Strawberries' reveals that a 3D model of the building has already been created, laser scanning has been carried out, and geodetic and structural studies are underway as part of the restoration preparations. Additionally, the website features a virtual tour, offering everyone the opportunity to see the building's current condition and track the progress of its restoration.
