Warning for heavy rainfall for four districts in Southwestern Bulgaria on Friday

On Friday, minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will range from 4°C to 9°C, around 6°C in Sofia.

In the morning, lowlands and river valleys will be foggy. It will remain cloudy throughout the day. Rain is expected in many places in the western half of the country, with significant amounts in the southwestern regions. A moderate, and in the eastern parts temporarily strong, easterly wind will blow.

Maximum temperatures will be between 8°C and 13°C, around 9°C in the capital.

Along the Black Sea coast it will be cloudy. The maximum air temperatures will be 14–15°C, the same as the sea temperature. Sea waves will be about 2 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains it will be cloudy, with high peaks shrouded in clouds. Rainfall is expected mainly in the Rila–Rhodope region and in the western parts of Stara Planina, turning to snow above 1,600 m elevation. The rainfall amounts in the Rila-Rhodope area will be significant. A strong, and in the higher areas gale-force, southeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperature at 1,200 m will be about 6°C, and around 0°C at 2,000 m.

On Saturday, St. Nicholas Day (Nikulden), rain will fall across the entire country. Winds will shift to the northeast, with higher minimum temperatures but daytime temperatures 2–3 degrees lower.
