The 52nd Sofia International Book Fair opens

The 52nd Sofia International Book Fair, Bulgaria’s largest literary event, will take place in the capital from 9 to 14 December 2025.

Over 150 publishers will present more than 100,000 titles at the National Palace of Culture. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a rich cultural programme.

An integral part of the fair is the 13th Sofia International Literary Festival, which for another year will bring together popular Bulgarian and international authors, translators and illustrators.

Among the writers that readers will have the opportunity to meet are Jeanette Winterson, Elizabeth Kostova, Gérard de Cortanze, Ian McGuire, Marie NDiaye, María Zaragoza, Noga Albalach, Todoris Gonis, Ursula Olsen, Frédéric Lenoir, as well as Bulgarian authors Velina Minkova, Yoanna Elmi and Rene Karabash.
